Windows 10: Centos7 Samba won't accept password from Windows 10 Pro, Home OK

My NAS (a D-Link running Samba under alt-f firmware) is getting old and slow, so I built a new fast server and installed Centos 7 and Samba 4 on it. I can see the server on the network from my Windows 10 professional desktop, but it won't accept my user name / password when I try to connect to it. However, when I try from my wife's desktop running Windows 10 Home, it accepts the exact same credentials my box won't. I can see and connect to my old NAS from both desktops, no problem. Extensive online research has failed to solve the problem. Any suggestions on troubleshooting greatly appreciated.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

 

Cannot connect to SAMBA shares on CENTOS7

I'm having this very annoying issue with samba shares. The server is running on a CentOS 7 distro with samba-4.1.12-23.el7_1.x86_64. My Windows 10 build is 10240.

The shares are visible but when I try to connect it waits a while and then gives me this error. I do not even get the chance to authenticate. It worked fine on Windows 8.1.





I've tried various config options and none of them worked. However I can connect from my MBP so it's definitely a W10 issue. Here is a copy of my config. Turning off the firewall and selinux also didn't help. I also have a MyBook with samba shares but they do not have this problem.
