Windows 10: Certain external links wont open to Google Chrome

Hello,For the past month or so I have been having trouble opening links from external applications with my default web browser google chrome. When I try to click on a link or a button that redirects to links they do not do anything. If I instead copy the text of the url and paste it into the browser it works completely fine, the only problem is that I have to have access to the actual url it is trying to open to use this getaround. When I try to click the sign in buttons on certain desktop apps such as spotify and unity hub nothing happens and the event logs say that chrome had crashed. Ke

How To Force Open Link In Same Tab In Google Chrome

Well perhaps a tab manager would allow you to easily identify and close unwanted tabs as well as providing a list of open tabs that you can click to open. Plus import or export tab lists so that you don't loose them. Anyway that was my line of thinking.

Everywhere I look - it seems that there is no way to override external link handling in Chrome by design.

One thing you can do is use this extension:

Open Link in Same Tab - Chrome Web Store

It does open external links in the same tab but requires a right click to choose option from context menu.

 

Google Chrome Wont open

I downloaded google chrome it worked for a few days then crash and now the it wont open at all. I press it and it appears to load but will not open. It wont open when trying to run as administrator and I cant uninstall it. It is saying it is still open
somewhere.

 

How To Force Open Link In Same Tab In Google Chrome

Hmhhh... Okay. I do certain projects that require me to try to minimize the amount of tabs open at the same time. What I'm implying is that I need external links to open within the same tabs of the link's origination.

I'll just wait until Google Chrome developers implement a similar option (into chrome://flags) like FireFox's advanced option: "browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction".
