Certain keys unexpectedly change my volume...

I was using my computer keyboard with a music synthesizer app, and when I played a chord I noticed that my volume on my computer increased. After a little bit of experimenting, I discovered that if I pushed the D Y and J keys at the same time, my volume would go up as if I had pressed the volume up button. This happens in and out of the app, and even while it is not running. Has anyone else experienced this, and can anyone confirm this on a different computer? Also, can you tell me whether this is a problem or just an inconvenience?

I am using a Dell Inspiron 5000 series 2-in-1, running Windows 10 home, version 1809, OS build 17763.437

    :)
