Windows 10: Certain Pictures Crash Personalization Window

To preface, I had a folder that shuffled 5 pictures for my desktop background. Recently I got a second monitor in and wanted to try AMD Eyefinity, which turns 2 or more monitors into 1 stretched display. When I turned that on for the first time, it reset my desktop background to a default color. Every time I would try to change it to either the folder containing those 5 pictures or a single photo of those 5, nothing would change and sometimes the window for the personalization would close itself. I've tried restarting the whole PC, updating Windows, drivers, checksums, literally downloading a

all games crash!

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Personalize desktop with pictures taken and stored within My Pictures

Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I suggest you to create a new folder, copy pictures whichever you want to set as desktop background and paste in new folder.

Now browse and select this folder to set as desktop background. Follow the below steps:

• Right click on desktop and select Personalize.
• Under background select Slideshow.
• Now browse for the folder which you created.
• Turn on Shuffle.
