    Certain video playbacks getting tunnel vision, blacking out, and weird "dark" effects.


    I thought that this was a problem with nest originally, and this only appears to be happening on desktop, and not in the apps, where the playback will suddenly go "tunnel vision", or black out, or go so dark that it looks like a special effect. THis also happens with some Reddit embedded videos, but never happens with youtube, leading me to think it might be some setting on my graphics card, (AMD Radeon graphics processor (ox6613) Internal DAC(400Mhz) total memory 5591 MB, and direct draw acceleration all turn to ON.
    It's happening on Both my monitors, and not on my android device.
    Any advice?

    Method: Run the Video Playback troubleshooter

    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click on Video Playback.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    Hi fleety91,

    Please run the Video Playback troubleshooter and see if the issue will persist. To run the troubleshooter, please follow the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows and I keys to open Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security.
    3. Click on Troubleshoot.
    4. Under Find and fix other problems, look for Video Playback
      and click on it.
    5. Click Run the troubleshooter.

    • Which application you are using to play the video?
    • What is the format of the videos you are trying to play?
    • Does this happens with all other videos as well?

    This issue might be due to outdated or corrupted graphic card drivers. Let's try the below steps and check if it helps:

    Step 1: Run Video Playback Troubleshooter.

    I suggest you to run the Video Playback
    Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run
    Video Playback troubleshooter:

    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click Video Playback
      troubleshooter.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
    • Check if issue persists.

    Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update your graphic card drivers.

    • Press Windows key + X key and click on
      Device manager.
