    Internet connection through wired LAN

I tried to connect to internet through wired lan. Actually I could connect to same lan with a wifi and even I could access internet through a connection at the back of wifi router(i.e.wired). But I could not directly connect to internet through lan wire(i.e.
ethernet) cable. Presently it was solved automatically after some time but if the problem arises again what should I do?

I could connect to the same lan through wifi router and mobile was also getting network with router. Only my PC could not connect with cable to ethernet. When I have run trouble shooting, it has shown me that I didnot have IP adress available and DHCP not
available. For the second time it has shown me that www.microsoft.com is not reachable.

So please tell me tips that I should follow when I face the problem again.

    Please ignore my spelling mistakes

Is this possible? (Access LAN-connected printer from home wifi)

    Settings and versions:

    • Latest version of windows 10 on both computers.
    • "Network discovery" and "file and printer sharing" turned on in both the PC and Laptop
    • "Share printer" turned on in the USB-connected printer settings
    My specific setup:

    Internet cable from wall-----xfinity router-port 1----eero wifi-----laptop

    xfinity router-port-2----PC (hard-wired)-----USB-connected-printer

    I want to do this:

    • From my Laptop (which is connected to my home wifi) I want to access/use a NON-Wifi-printer which is connected via USB to my "hard-wired-non-wifi-capable" PC.
    • Said another way: My PC is hard-wired (not wifi capable) and has a USB-connected printer which I'd like to access/use from my wifi-connected laptop.

I gather that I need to get my LAN-connected PC onto my wifi network somehow. What I've read online makes me think it's possible, but instructions about "MS Virtual adpater" and other such things don't seem to apply to my version of windows. (Iow, the menus
    they call for aren't there)

When I try to add the printer to my laptop it doesn't see it. When I try to add it manually by typing in the printer address, it doesn't find it. e.g. [http://computername/printers/printername/.printer] (I changed the
bolded words and left the non-bolded as is. Was that correct?)

    Is this doable?

Can't access certain websites in Win10

    Hi Alan,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

I appreciate your efforts and time.

    • As I understand you are unable to access certain websites, what websites are you not able to access?
    • Have you logged in with a Microsoft account or a local account?
I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Network troubleshooter. Either search for it in the Search or run it by following the link below.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cant-connect-to-network#1TC=windows-8

    • Try a different network adapter/connection type if possible.
    • Check for Windows Updates.
    • Check for drivers for the network adapter.
    • Open a CMD window as Administrator:
      • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
      • sfc /scannow
      • netsh winsock reset
Also try to restart the DNS service.

    • Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click on Run.
    • Type services.msc. Click on Ok.
    • Then find DNS client. Right-click on it to Stop it and Restart it.
If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.
