Windows 10: Chances of recovering Win 8 Key Email?

Hi All,

I'm doubting I'll get any luck with this but posting on the off change someone has been in a similar situation.

Back when Windows 8 was first released, there was a promotion from MS Offering Win 8 Pro at a reduced price (If anyone remembers that!), perhaps around $40, I went ahead and purchashed this and upgraded from Vista. I remember receiving an email from MS containing the product key - Now the problem is I must have at some point deleted this, completely my fault. I was hoping to transfer this key to a new PC build as it was a retail copy, however I'm aware that the product key I retrieved from the PC was not the original one, I'm pretty sure the keys were changed for whatever reason.


If anyone has been in this situation, have they been able to recvoer or get the key sent back out from Microsoft? I've been on live chat and the advisor checked my store history, but this was before the Windows Store was as it is now, so not sure what channel this would've been bought through but it was definitlely from Microsoft at the time.

recover Win7 lappy cd key

Hi guys,I was an idiot and decided to test out Win 8 craptasticness.

Now I can not restore to Windows 7 without my cd key. Which is located on the bottom of the chassis except it is not legible any more.

All I have form Win7 is the Windows.old folder.Any idea how to recover the cdkey from the windows.old folder?
