Windows 10: Change cmd.com default font

I've read Brink's tutorial "How to Change Command Prompt Font and Font Size in Windows". Change Command Prompt Font and Font Size in Windows

He points out that the change can only be made to apply by using a shortcut. Which means that every use of the cmd prompt which is not through a shortcut will be in the original font (and color). So, is there some way to force the system to open all calls to cmd with a master shortcut? Or maybe a Registry edit?

Windows 10 Change default font

I want to change default font of windows 10.

i have windows on Urdu i want to change default font to any nasteeqe font

 

Is there a way to change the default arabic font in Win10 ?

I Have changed the default font through regedit by changing the fontsubtitles variables but with no luck with the arabic font to be changed, If anyone have any Idea to change the arabic default font I will be grateful. thanks in advance.

 

What version are you on? I'm on 1709 and if I change the font it sticks (as does colour and transparency).

Just right click on title bar > preferences > font and change it. If I close and re-open cmd the new font is remembered.

Didn't have to do anything with shortcuts.

Hully mackerel, it worked! I gave up trying to make those settings stick two years ago. Win 10 but a different computer (which later croaked).

Do you happen to know the difference between "Defaults" and "Properties"? Rt click on title bar doesn't show "Preferences" but "Defaults" and "Properties". I went with properties.

 

Clicking on 'Defaults' and OK changes the settings back to their default style, color, etc.

 

That's right. Default Just like any other Windows setting, means you are setting it to the original or Default setting that comes with Windows. Properties is the Properties of the Command Prompt, where you can change the Font and Colors.

 

Well, I previously misinterpreted Default to mean "Set the default". I stand corrected.

Now you just have to find out who has access to your computer and is setting the cmd terminal background color to that horrible yellow!

The horrible yellow was a quick pick from the pallet offered by Properties, just to see if it worked. I've since modified it so I can put away my sunglasses.

 

Try the "Opacity" on the colors tab. 75% is a pretty good start *Smile

 

You guys do realize you can make it what ever color you want...... *Rolleyes

Although, this is a 3rd party, finished theme, I am becoming somewhat adept at modifying style sheets and such; heck of a lot of work though! *Sleepy
