Change default app for all supported extension all at once on windows 11

I did not find any posts about this and it surprises me. On Windows 7 and Windows 10, there was a button to make a program default for every file format it supports. So when I installed a media player, I clicked one button, and it associated every audio and video format. On Windows 11 how can I do this? On the default app settings, there are just extensions I can choose from. Obviously, I don't want to search for a hundred different extensions one by one, I want my media player/image viewer, etc to associate with everything it supports. What is the way to do this? Thanks :

    :)

  2. How to set a default app for extensions?

    Hi Tyler,

Which app are you trying to set for .res extension?

Please try to check the app you are trying to set. Is it feasible with .res extension?

I suggest performing the steps below and check if it fixes the problem.

Go to Setting - Apps - Click on Default apps - Click on Choose default apps by file type.

On the left, search for .res extension

Across .res extension, tap on Choose a default

    Try browsing for the app.

  4. Change default app for all supported extension all at once on windows 11

Change default file extension for application

I am using the windows 11 photo app. The default file extension is .NEF. Is there a way to change this to .TIFF or some other format? I use a photo editing tool that will not open .NEF and it means exporting the file and saving as to change the extension. I would like the Windows Photo app to default when opening any/all files to the .TIFF extension.

    Thank you in advance.
