Windows 10: Change default program files location to drive other than C?

Discus and support Change default program files location to drive other than C? in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; There is the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion but changing the location in there, doesn't appear to be doing...     Change default program files location to drive other than C?


    There is the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion but changing the location in there, doesn't appear to be doing anything.

    I have a relatively small SSD and I can not install everything to my C drive. I appreciate anyone's help.

    Cannot Change Default Settings

    Help with changing Microsofts choice of defaults:

    1 - In Settings / Storage / Save Locations , I cannot change defaults from C: to another drive. I change them, apply, and close page, go back and they have returned to C:

    2 - In Control Panel / Default Programs / Set Program Access and Computer Defaults / Non-Microsoft, I cannot change any settings. i.e., cannot set Firefox as default, cannot set a program other than iTunes as default Media Player.
