Windows 10: Change Display Name Microsoft Account?

On my family computer I am the only admin and I want to change my user account display name to admin. I signed into my Microsoft account for the user so I could manage family stuff from there, But it automatically sets my logon display name as James Hatcher. The name of the user is admin but it still displays that. I also dont want to change my name on the Microsoft account, and even if I did, it would have to be two words anyway, first name, last name Help?

• When you say, “I made the selection to sign in to her Microsoft account using my Microsoft log in” do you mean that you used your Microsoft account to login to the PC?
  
  
• Where exactly the name has been changed for the child account? Are you seeing the name changed in Microsoft Family when you log in to
  https://account.microsoft.com?
  
• What happens when you try to change the name for the child account?
  
• Are you referring to the name displayed on the log in screen of the computer?.

Query about changing the account name

Hi Stephanie,

Since you have already changed the name on your Microsoft account, we suggest switching into a local account, and then log back in with your Microsoft account. This way, we can be sure that any changes made to your Microsoft account will be synced to your
local user account.

For steps on how to switch to a local account:

• Click on Start.
• Click on Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Under Your account, click on Switch to a local account.

To switch back to a Microsoft account:

• Follow steps 1-3 above to get to Accounts.
• Under Your account, click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.

Changing the Log-on/Display name

To change your sign-in screen name on Windows 10, follow the steps below:

• Use the Windows key + I keyboard shortcut to open the Settings app.
• Click Accounts.
• Select Your email and accounts.
• 
  Hit the Manage my Microsoft Account link to open the web browser and load your profile.

  In the main page, click the Edit name link.
  
• 
  Change your name and last name, and click Save.
  
• 
  Restart your computer.
  

Note: It is important to know that following these steps, you will also be changing the name on your outlook.com account and other Microsoft services, as well as the account name that is connected with your Microsoft account.

• Type user on the search bar; then, click User Accounts.
• Click on change your account name option; then, change the name and check if it helps.
