    What I want (/had, pre-recent update): Folder View Large Icons, Sort by Date Modified (Descending), Folders before loose files.

    The Problem: Can't Customize system's default Computer/Downloads folder (Read Only); Can't create working shortcut to actual C:/Users/[Username]/Downloads folder.

    The update before last reset something, but was fixed by Customizing the Downloads folder into a Pictures folder, instead of a General Items folder. The latest update borked everything again, not only reverting the folder type, but reintroducing the garbage Group By structure. Group sorting was easily disabled, but the folder view is stuck as Details, with my folders below loose files when in descending order.

    Customizing the C:/Users/[Username]/Downloads folder TECHNICALLY fixes this, BUT navigating to the Downloads folder any way other than manually clicking through defaults to Computer/Downloads instead, which is a Read Only folder and cannot be changed at all without it automatically reverting immediately.

    Please please PLEASE DO NOT recommend asking over on the Microsoft help forum, because a) it's usually useless and b) they like to remind you that they're not affiliated with actual Microsoft and you should call support for better help :^)

    Did you download and run Brink's .bat file in Step 1 ? Lacking that, look at the screens in post 3. In Step 5 'folders of this type' defaults to each of the Windows templates for Pictures, Music, etc. If you want ALL folders to have the same List view, r-click any folder in each of the 5 folders under This PC (Desktop does not apply) and hit 'Customize this folder'. Set to 'Optimize this folder for General Items". Then follow the screen in post 3 using List instead of Details in Step 1 and you should be good to go.

    Folder view issue

    I want my folders (and subfolders) to stay in List view but they keep changing to Details view.

    I have tried View>Options>Apply to Folders many times but it doesn't stick.

    Any suggestions?
