  1. Change file/folder permission to machine/user only

Is there a way to make take ownership change file/folder permission to machine/user while getting rid of old and or corrupted information?

Just something that came to mind when I was fooling with format/reinstalling windose again. I dunno if its something to be aware of or not but knowing windose it might be a bad thing if it gets to cluttered with iffy info.

And is there a way to change system file/folder permission's to the new install? Sometimes something goes wonky and I have nothing but problems from folders deep within programdata/windows/appdata not wanting to allow an installer to put stuff in there.

    :)

Windows 10 Touch Keyboard way to small

Basically copying the files TabTip.exe and tipskins.dll from a 1703 build into a 1709 build should do the trick. You will need admin rights to solve this

On the 1703 build machine. - Open folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink - Make a backup copy of TabTip.exe and tipskins.dll and copy them to a USB drive.

On the 1709 build machine. - Open folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink - On these two files in the folder above: TabTip.exe, tipskins.dll ... a. Open Security Permissions. b. Change Ownership of files from TrustedInstaller to your local
user account. c. Close & Re-open the Permissions window. d. Change Permission for Administrators Group (or add permission for your local account) Giving FULL permission to your User or Group. - Open TaskManager and END the TabTip.exe process. - Copy the
files from the USB device over the files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink folder. - (It might be possible that you need to rename the original files before you can copy the new ones)

  3. Getting all permissions

I sometimes have permissions problems when trying to access folders and/or files on my machines, usually ones created automatically through other applications (in my case, Visual Studio 2015). I am the only user of these machines, so I know all the passwords,
I just need to figure out how to change the security settings. I want to have full access to all files, folders, and everything else, and I would also like this to be true for any files and folders created by other applications. Some of the machines use Windows
7, and some use Windows 10, but as I said, I am the only user, so I know all the passwords. What can I do to give myself access to all files & folders? Thanks.

  5. I can already do that , my question is more dose it matter how many user permissions are on a file/folder? I have been using the take ownership thing for years and some of my archives I worry if they are okay with all that old info on them.
