Windows 10: change key assignment

When I was sitting at my laptop in the evening, the windows button worked fine, and then it stopped, now the button does not open the menu but pauses the video or music, I looked at a lot of tips but none helped

The function "Change language bar hot keys " has a bug.

We would like to know more about your concern. Kindly provide us more details by answering the following questions:

• When did you start encountering the issue?
  
• Have you made any changes on your computer prior to this issue?
  
• Were the hotkeys settings on your Windows 10 computer ever worked before?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you reconfigure your hotkeys settings by setting your key sequence to Not Assigned. To do this refer to the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Language > Advanced Settings.
  
• Under Switching input methods, select Change language bar hot keys.
  
• Select Between input languages, and then click Change Key Sequence.
  
• Set Switch Keyboard Layout to Not Assigned.
  
• Restart your computer.

Once you're done with the process, you may then proceed to reconfigure your language bar hot keys to your desired settings. You may follow the steps above and select your preferred keyboard layout.

E65 My Own Key assignment list very limited

Anyone know why the functions/apps that can be assigned to the "my own key" are different (much more limited) than the functions/apps that can assigned on the Active Standby screen? Due to the much shorter list of possible things to assign to the key it
is clear Nokia intentionally hard-coded a specific list of apps. But why?

Unfortunately, my first two choices are not available. Loudspeaker would be terrific to always have available with a dedicated key. My second choice is Internet Telephone for VoIP but this isn't on the list either. Anyone found a way to assign other apps or
functions not on the default list? Could an application be written to expand the list?

 

Change owner of registry keys using command/powershell

I suggest you change ownership of the {CLSID} Key itself through the user interface and set the checkbox for subcontainers & objects when you do so.



In my example, you can see that I have assigned ownership to Administrators [plural].
I suggest you do the same.
You can then use any Admin to assign Full control of those keys including subcontainers & objects. Again I suggest you assign that to Administrators [plural].

Then you can run your desired customisation scripts as Admin [any Admin].

Do not make the mistake of assigning ownership or Full control to Administrator [singular]. That would result in assigning those privileges only to the Built-in Admin account.
