Windows 10: Change key (numlock) function, pref no 3rd party app

I decided between two laptops recently and one thing I liked on the laptop I did not choose was the secondary behaviors of the Function keys. One started calc which is actually useful for me. Additionally my chosen laptop has a 10 key, so invoking calc quickly would be nice. I will literally never turn numlock off, and so I figured if I could change numlock to always be on (it's current behavior) as well as function as either a shortcut or a macro (say, Ctrl+Shift+combo of other keys) would be nice.

I understand I can probably obtain this functionality from 3rd party apps, like Autohotkey or sharpkeys, but I wanted to see if this was possible without having an app running at all times (ie: changing registry values or some base behavior in windows). If I can only get this functionality by 3rd party, would you recommend Autohotkey, sharpkeys, or some other program?

Windows Mail and 3rd party messages

• May I know what exactly do you mean when you say "download messages from 3rd party into Windows Mail"?
• Are you referring to Mail app on Windows 10? If so, are you able to receive any send email via Mail app?

If you are facing issues with Mail app, I suggest
run the in-built Windows Store app troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X..
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  On the left pane, click on View All.
  
• 
  Click on Windows Store apps to run the troubleshooter.

Windows10 - numlock not on at startup

Hi guys,

Trick was not really helpful.

After a logon, the NumLock key is now effectively on, but I need this before the logon.

My logon password has digits, and I would need the Numlock key to be «ON» at the logon process.

Is there another way to solve that ??
