Windows 10: Change Login for Accessing Windows 11 Computer via the Network

I want certain folders on my Windows 11 computer to be accessible via the network, but the login credentials for the computer over the network are my email's address and password.Is there a way to change this to a standard login and different password?The email/password combination is too long, which makes logging in annoying, and I don't want to give out the actual password to my email account to other people in my household who might want to access files on the Windows 11 computer.

One computer cannot access other network computers.


So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:

• Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
• Ran a bunch of network commands:
  • flushed DNS
  • registered dns
  • pinged and located the named computers successfully
• Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

 

Network share to require login

Alright what i am trying to do is have a password, or login required to access some shared folders on a computer. All computers are using XP Pro SP2, now i have had situations in the past were i try to access a shared folder over the network on a laptop and it asks for a username and password before it will let me access it. This is what i am trying to setup. Even if i was able to assign the folder permissions for a specific user account.

Any help?

• Did you make any changes on your computer prior to the issue?

In the meantime, we suggest following the steps below to troubleshoot Shared Folders in Windows 10:

• On the Cortana search box, type Troubleshoot
  and select the first result.
• Scroll down and click on Shared Folders.
• Click the Run the troubleshooter button.
