Windows 10: Change Product Key does not work 0xc004f050

Hello,I bought last year a laptop which came with Windows 10 home pre-installed. Then I received the free Windows 11 upgrade, via the Windows Update service.Because I want more feature than currently available in Windows 11 Home, I purchased from the internet an USB with Windows 11 Pro and license key. When I go to System > Activation > Upgrade your edition of Windows > Change product key, I get the following error message:How can I fix this and how can I get my Windows 11 Pro license activated on the current installed version?Thank you for your time and assistance!

You may want to refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Type command prompt in the search bar on the Taskbar.
   
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Type in the following commands and hit Enter after each command:
   slmgr -upk
   slmgr -cpky
   slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (Replace XXXX with the product key)
   slmgr -ato

Product Key not compatible 0xc004f050

Hi,

I recently purchased a copy of Windows 10 (Home edition).

I bought it for my father but when i try to activate it on his laptop i get the following error code: 0xc004f050

with the message: "Product key not compatible"

could it be that the product key is matched to an email address of who purchased it?

if so, how do i change it?

Cant change product key?


I'm facing the similar problem.
I was using Win8.1 single language version which was genuine and activated as well. When Win 10 became available, I had downloaded win 10 single language version and installed accordingly. The problem is the windows is not getting activated. When I click on the change product key (update&settings--->Activation---Product key) button the windows freezes. I've checked the keys using show key script as given below -



Don't know how the installed key was installed. I didn't give input the key showing in the show key window screenshot.

I tied with cmd prompt (admin mode) C:\Windows\system32>slmgr /ipk JVDY9-
it is not working... Error (0xC004F050) invalid product key
