  1. Change RAID setting before upgrading Dell Precision T5500 to Windows 10

I've read that many people have successfully upgraded their Dell Precision T5500 to Windows 10, and the PC continues to work well. I have read that there can be upgrade difficulties, however.

My T5500 is set to RAID ON, and I gather that can be a problem while upgrading. I want to upgrade directly from Win 7 Pro 64-bit. BUT, if I change the RAID to AHCI, my PC may not boot into Win 7 and so I can't upgrade directly to 10.

    Any advice on this matter?

I think I can uninstall the 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager' from Win 7 (instead of at boot up). Then upgrade to Win 10. Would that work?

Any other pre-upgrade advice greatly appreciated!

  2. Dell Precision Workstation T5500 will not wake from Sleep Mode

If I allow my Dell Precision Workstation T5500 to enter sleep mode, or place it in sleep mode myself, the PC will not wake unless I hold the power button in to drain all electrons..

Moving the mouse, tapping the keyboard, a "quick" push of the power button results in nothing but a 'zombie' PC....

I assume I should be able to place a Dell Precision Workstation T5500 in Sleep Mode, and wake it?

(This is a PC, not a Laptop)
