  1. Change sticky keys toggle shortcut

In the sticky keys options panel it says ''Use shortcut (5x SHIFT) to toggle sticky keys'', but is this shortcut changeable? 5x Shift just isn't a great shortcut for me as I would probably turn it off and on without wanting to.

Note that I don't want to ''turn off sticky keys'' or ''stop the beeping'' or anything, I want to use sticky keys, I just don't like the 5x Shift shortcut, and I'd like to create my own shortcut for it.

It really doesn't seem that this is possible directly, but are there any advanced options somewhere hidden where I can change this?

PS feel free to redirect me to r/TechSupport, I didn't know if this particularly qualified as a ''tech support'' problem.

    Hi,

To create a sticky note shortcut on your Windows 10, what I can suggest is to kindly follow the instructions below:

    • In the Start menu, type Sticky Notes in the Search box/Cortana.
    • Select and right click the app.
    • Click Open file location.
    • Right click and select Properties.
    • In the shortcut key: tab, press the keyboard key that you want to create a shortcut with.
    • Click Apply to save the changes.
Kindly note that you have to be the Administrator to make the changes.

Let us know how it goes.

    Issue:

I've been having an issue for the past 4 or so months with sticky keys persistently turning itself on. If my computer goes to sleep, it will automatically turn sticky keys on again, regardless of shift being pressed 5 times. Sometimes if the computer idles
long enough it will turn back on as well. To turn it off, I go into Ease of Access Center, and uncheck the box that says "Allow the Shortcut Key to Start Sticky Keys", and turn off the toggle that says "Press One Key at a Time for Keyboard Shortcuts" (Sticky
Keys). This effectively turns it off, until the computer is left unattended or is put to sleep.

    Solutions Attempted:

    1) Entering the registry and changing the values of the Sticky Keys, Filter Keys, and Toggle Keys (flags values) to the suggested values in all the other Sticky Keys Threads. No result. I double checked and the values did stay changed.

    2) Renaming the sticky keys files (sethc.exe) in the OS folder.

    3) Deleting the sticky keys files.

    4) I tried the "windows troubleshooting" which brought me to a thread saying to delete the "flags" folders for Sticky, Toggle, and Filter keys in the registry. Still no result.

Thanks for the help in advance Change sticky keys toggle shortcut :) Please feel free to ask for more information.

    sticky keys

    Hi,

Sticky keys dialog box appears when you have press the Shift key five times continuously. It also lets you use the Shift, Ctrl, ALT, or Windows Logo keys by pressing one key at a time. You can set up Sticky Keys from the Ease of Access Center on the Control
    Panel. Follow the steps below:

    • Press the Shift key five times.
    • Once the dialog box appear, click the Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable keyboard shortcut link.
    • It will open the Set up Sticky Notes window in the Control Panel.
    • Uncheck Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times option.
    • You can also set the settings to your desired option.

After doing so, check if the same pop-up will appear while playing the game.

Get back to us if you need further assistance.
