Windows 10: Change two-finger touchpad gesture browser navigation settings - Windows 10

Is there a way to change the broswer navigation default touchpad gesture settings for the two-finger swipe?


Currently, swiping from right-to-left goes back in the browser. Swiping left-to-right goes forward. I would like to invert those settings, but "Advanced Gesture Configuration" settings only show three- and four-finger options, not two. The only two-finger gesture settings available are to enable or disable scrolling, and to enable or disable pinch to zoom.

Two Finger Browser Navigation

Hi Donia,

You can change touchpad settings to turn the touchpad on and off, reverse scrolling direction, turn gestures on and off, and more. You can follow the steps below:

1. Attach the Cover to your Surface or the keyboard to your Surface Book. (If you have a Wireless Adapter for Typing Covers, attach the Cover directly to your Surface.)
2. Go to Start , and select Settings > Devices
   > Touchpad.
3. Adjust your settings under Touchpad.

Some applications have a built-in touchpad gestures. If you are having issues using the two-finger gestures for browser navigation on Google Chrome, I would suggest that you contact
Google Support for further assistance.

Disable Three Finger Gesture of touchpad

Note: The article talks about enabling the gesture, to disable the gesture we need to make sure the box next to Three Finger gesture is unchecked.

Change Three Finger Flick Gesture Action


I want to change the three finger action on my laptop touchpad. I have win 8.1 driver synaptics driver installed. The three finger gestures can't be changed, only enabled or disbaled. Now, the gestures do the forward and backward navigation on left/right three finger swipe and pageup and pagedown action on up/down swipe. I want to change the up/down or if possible left/right gestures to the new actions introduced in win 10.
researched a bit online and I think that maybe they can be changed through registry edits.

Secondly, I also want to change three finger press to Notification centre. I have a option to launch any program with this gesture so I want to know that if an executable shortcut can be created to windows notification centre (shortcut: Win+A).
