    Change where apps are stored

    Hey guys

I have a few windows apps (specifically games) that I would like to move over to a new drive. I used to do this by either redownloading them and changing the download drive by clicking settings>system>storage>change where new content is saved. Later on I found out I could go to settings>apps> [choose which app I wanted to move]>click move and choose which drive I wanted to move it.

However its been a long while (12+ months) since I've done this. A couple of days ago I tried and while I could get to the places where I choose a drive, my settings menu only displayed my C: drive. I have 5 drives in my pc and all are internal in the same pc and split between pci and sata input. None of them are raided or combined. All 5 work fine and can be found in disk management, file explorer, etc and have regularly been used by me and the programs I use for the last couple of years. It is just in the Windows settings menu that none are found.

My build was on the May 2019 update. I tried rolling back to the October update and still no dice. I have run sys check and mem test to no avail. I also deleted the settings app and reinstalled in command prompt. I tried the option to repair/refresh pc. I finally contacted MS support and two different techs have remote logged onto my pc to no avail. I finally did a full wipe and reinstall. This ended up making things work successfully. I could see all my drives in the settings menu.

However, right after updating again back to the May 2019 update, I am back to the settings menu only seeing my C: drive again. This is a very aggravating issue since I lost 100+Gb (my games I would have to redownload) and I have an internet cap. I don't want to try again until I know I have squashed this bug. Has anyone else encountered/ heard of this issue and found or know of a fix?

    :)

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Change where apps are stored :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

How to Change Windows store and apps language to English

    Hi,

Thank you for providing us the opportunity to assist you.

As per the issue description you are willing to change the language back to English which get changed after installing November update in China.
I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    • Is the issue specific to some apps or with all apps?
    • Is the language of the OS and keyboard in English?

I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

Step 1: Set the display language to English by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

    • Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type
Settings and select the top most search result.
    • Select Time & Language and click on Region & Language from the left side panel of the window.
    • Click on Add a Language under Language settings and select
      English.
    • Click on the added language and click on Options.
    • Click on Download to download the language pack.
    • After the download is complete, select the language and click Set as default.
    • Check if the changes are effective.

Step 2: If the issue persist, I suggest you to run the
Windows apps troubleshooter and check if the issue is resolved

In many cases, the Windows Store will automatically notify you if there’s a problem with an app and try to fix the problem. If you continue experiencing problems with an app, this tool can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps and the Store.

Do get back to us with all the information required and result of proposed suggestion. We will be happy to assist you.

    Regards,
