  1. Changed location of libraries to secondary drive, what happens after Windows reinstall?

    Hi,

I have an SSD as main C:-Drive, and an HDD as the D:-Drive. The standard user libraries, which normaly would point to a location on the main drive, have it changed to the secondary drive. There, I have a folder called "My data". I did this via the properties.

Now, I have changed the path of some libraries like Documents, Pictures, etc. to this beforementioned folder. The effect is, that these libraries now 'sit' in it, and then you would navigate to the files, which sit on the secondary drive.

Example path: D: > "My data" > Pictures (library) > The folders and files

Question is, did I do this right? Because what if I have to reinstall Windows on the C:-Drive (or am forced to swap it), the new installation would have the libraries point to the standard location. Then what happens to the 'old' libraries on the secondary drive? Will they cease to exist, and only leave the files? Will my files be lost, because the path doesn't exist anymore? Or am I clear?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

    Steps to confirm issue:

    • Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
    • Secondary drive not visible in device manager
    • Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

    Steps to replicate issue:

    • Installing 1909 update

    Steps to resolve issue:

    • Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
