  1. Changes to how I need to wake up the monitor: possibly a Microsoft Windows 10 issue?

I have a PC and monitor and use Windows 10.

In Windows 10, I have my monitor to set to ‘turn off’ after 10 minutes.

Up until a few months ago, when the screen turned off/went blank, I would just tap the keyboard space bar to turn the screen on again.

A few months ago, this changed.

Now, if I do not use the keyboard for SHORT periods and the screen turns off, I can still turn it on again by tapping the keyboard.

But if I do not use the computer for a LONGER period maybe longer than an hour, then tapping the keyboard does not wake the screen up. I can however wake the screen up again by pushing the input button on my monitor which toggles between VGA and HDMI and DVI.

I would prefer to just wake the screen up by pushing the keyboard, including when I haven’t been using the computer for a long period.

I am wanting to check whether there is any adjustment within Windows 10 that might fix this.

    :)

Monitor problem - not waking up

Hey guys, I have an issue with my BenQ GW2765HT where if I turn on my computer with the monitor in standby (orange light) status the monitor will not wake up. I must then unplug the monitor from the AC power and then replug it and then also restart my computer before the monitor will wake up. This issue is intermittent however and also strangely if I do a restart from Windows the monitor goes to standby for a second or two before waking back up when the POST screen appears which is normal behaviour. So it seems only if the screen is on standby for some time does it fail to wake up again.

Also the monitor will not wake up if it is powered off (although still plugged in) under the same circumstances as if it were just on standby status and also requires the AC power to be disconnected and the computer to be restarted before it wakes up.

Any suggestions? Or should I just take it back to my shop?

info; I bought it in the middle of August last year.
edit; I am using a displayport cable. I've tried a different displayport cable and also with a different computer and I have the same problem. I also tried DVI and it happened more often.

  3. i have a problem to connect 2 monitors.

    Hi Ron,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
    • How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?
I suggest you to follow the steps from this article below:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors

[Applies to Windows 10 as well]

    Regards.

    computer wake-up after sleep

    Hi Bill,

There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
    so:

    • Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
    • Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
    • From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
      OK/Apply.

Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.
