    We've been developing software using network drives mounted as M:, Q: and R: for over 30 years. There are various .CMD files as well as a master project now solution file in the root. We are finally trying to get our development environment working under Windows 11 Pro and we've discovered that our source control provider a 10+ year old 32 bit product that is no longer supported is unable to open any files in any drive ROOT for WRITING -- or perhaps it is having trouble removing the READ-ONLY attribute from the checked-in files before opening them for writing.
