Windows 10: Changes to Win 10 start menu

Several months ago, I experienced a change in my start menu. I am not sure how it happened. I used to have the standard start menu when I depressed the Windows button on the keyboard. This included all my Apps down the left side of the page.


Suddenly, those Apps disappeared, and I now have the following starting at the bottom:

1 Power

2 Settiings

3 File Explorer

4 Personal Folder

5 Pictures

6 Documents

7 Computer Name

8 All Apps

9 Pinned Tiles

10 The Expand button


If I want to use and App, other than to pinned tiles, I have to hit All Apps, and search thru them to find the one I want. This is annoying, and have not found a way to get the original Win 10 Start menu Back.

Start menu is not working on Windows 10

          When you say "If I sign in under my user name I am in some earlier version", which version you are referring to?
          
        • 
          Did you made any recent changes to your computer prior to the issue?
          
        • 
          When you say “I cannot access the start menu and am limited to IP as a browser” Is it refers to Microsoft Edge?
          

As an initial steps, I suggest you to check for the Windows version. To do so, follow the below steps:

1) Login to your computer through user name on which it show earlier version of Windows.

2) Press Windows key + r.

3) Type winver, hit enter.
