Windows 10: changing/adding username on fresh installation

I just took delivery of a new Dell Inspiron laptop, with Win10 Personal. This is third laptop in the family, due to replace my wife's several-year-old Win7 machine. As part of the initial startup/configuration just about the very first thing it asked for my MS login credentials. From that it created a local user named 'edste' -- the first five characters of my first/last name. I was never asked about what actual username I might like to create. It also created a logon pin.I would like to create a new, default user with my wife's name, but still connecting to MS with my credentials, so as

how do I change the default username of win10 on fresh install, my activation is linked to my Microsoft account, everytime I do a fresh install it never asks me to pick a username. it uses automatically assigns me the name I used when installing Windows
10 very first time.

how can I activate the option to choose during a username at the last part of setup like it used to be back in previous windows versions.

installing then making second user is not an option.

Are you logged in with the Microsoft account or a local account?

You can follow the steps below to change the username and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X key.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Under view, select large icons.
• Go to User Account.
• Click on Manage another account.
• Select the User Account for which you want to select the password.
• Click on Change the username.
• Click on Change Name button.

Okay from what I gather the steps I need to take is to do normal install without wifi on, then according to a post on another microsfft answers page :

• Click on Start menu and select Accounts.
• Select Your email and accounts and click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
• Type the details for your Microsoft Account.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

If I am correct in that, what will the effects be. will it rewrite my username and user directory.

ill do try all methods, reinstall it as many times as needed until I get the wanted result and update this thread with my findings when I get the time.

Can you tell me if I switch from Microsoft to local or vice-versa it wont be permanent and the option to do either will still be possible in the future.

other than this issue installing windows is nothing compared to the headache Arch Linux gave me.
