Windows 10: Changing administer email

I'm having trouble changing details for my administer account. I want to change the email address associated with the account to the one I'm using currently, but when trying to add it as an alias it says the email is already taken. If I unlink the device associated with the email, can I then change it to this one? Or will it affect my data? Thank you

Let's try to make this really simple so you actually try something. Here are 3 steps, already described above. Try Step 1 only, then report the result. Do not try Step 2 or 3 until you've done that. I hope that's clear. Step 1. Already suggested above. Reset services to default. Follow Restore Default Services in Windows 10 Restart PC when done. Report any change. I said this was in the searchable Tutorial section. This is how you search the Tutorial section:
