Windows 10: changing administrator / laptop reset

i have a surface laptopi tries to sync my laptop to my new outlook as the laptop was signed into my dads account. i changed it from administrator however it wouldnt let me log in without doenloading an app. however now when i go to reset or access User accounts on the control panel it comes up with a "do your want to make changes to your device ?" pop up with only the "no" option and "x" i cant reset my password as it runs into an error or change any account settings. please is there anyway i can fix it or override it to reset so i can start afresh with my own email ? the family and others set

To change the Account type follow the steps.

  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.

  Click on change your account type.
  
• 
  Select standard account.
  

To delete the account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Select the user account.
  
• 
  Click on Delete the account.
  

To create the new user account follow the steps.

• 
  Press Windows + X, click on User Accounts.
  
• 
  Click on Manage other Account.
  
• 
  Click on Add A new user in PC setting.

There's no need to reset the laptop. Simply create a new user account for you, change its account type to administrator (all new accounts after the first initial one are standard accounts when created), sign out from the original account, sign in to your new account and finally remove the original account. Takes a few minutes, much faster than a full reset.

• Step 1, create a new user account: User Account - Add in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
