  1. Changing bit depth on highres USB DAC to a lower setting.

    Hello

I recently bought a liquid spark dac to be the playback device for my laptop. The product specs say that on usb, the dac is capable of 16, 24, and 32 bit audio with sample rates of 44.1k to 192k. However when I want to change the default format in speaker properties the only options I have available are 32 bit. .

Certain applications such as Dolby Atmos and Windows Sonic do not work on 32 bit depth audioThe dac runs on lower bit depths on optical and coaxial, but my laptop does not have those outputs. Also the dac seems to be driverless or driver updates have not been released, so reinstalling drivers or rolling back drivers also didn't work Is there a way for windows 10 to have the lower bit depth options on the dac in usb?

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Color bit depth is at 6-bit on Display properties of Windows 10 pro

Try the below suggested steps and check if the suggested options are available to change the Color bit Depth value

    1. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
    2. Expand the Display, and then highlight the Change resolution.
    3. On the right side, check if there is 8 bpc listed under
      Output color depth.
    4. You may select 8 bpc and restart the device to witness the changes.

  3. Changing bit depth/sample rate in playback device settings stops audio output

    Hello,

I have a USB DAC (HRT MusicStreamer II) connected to a windows PC (motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-F2A85XN-WIFI featuring Realtek ALC892 audio driver). I noticed recently that when I go to advanced
settings for MusicStreamer (this is my default audio device), sample rate/bit depth is set at 16 bit / 48KHz. Since USB DAC can support up to 24 bit / 96KHz, I changed it to that setting. But when I was playing music from Youtube, the audio stopped working
after about a minute and no sound comes until I reset the audio setting back to 16 bit / 48KHz.

When I checked with HRT, they said that this should be a windows / configuration problem and could not help more. Looking for some help here as to how I can increase my audio setting to play a higher quality audio out.

    Thanks,

  4. Changing bit depth on highres USB DAC to a lower setting.

Changing bit depth/sample rate in playback device settings stops audio output

I get that audio files can have varying bit depths/sampling rates. But my problem is that I am not able to change the setting in Windows which I believe dictates my 'max setting'.

Pretty much all DACs are intelligent enough to know the incoming quality of audio and process it accordingly as far as I understand. So what I want to do is to change the windows setting to 24/96 so that DAC can process higher quality audio as well. Makes
sense? Even the HRT's technical team also agreed that the Windows setting doesn't see right.
