Windows 10: Changing browser

I have installed Firefox but am having a hell of a job changing from Internet Explorer to Firefox. When I double click on the icon I go to the Firefox page and it asks me if I want to make Firefox my default browser. Obviously, I click yes but then I'm taken to my default apps page. I've tried everything but I cannot get Windows to change from Internet Explorer to Firefox. Any help would be appreciated

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  In desktop search, type default app settings and select the result.
  
• 
  Under Web browser, click the current browser (EDGE).
  
• 
  Choose Internet Explorer and set it as
  default.
