Windows 10: Changing default PDF reader

I have two PDF reader files installed.


The first is Adobe Reader which is required by specific programs issued by the Australian Taxation Office - NO other reader is permitted or works.


The second, and my preferred reader is Nuance Power PDF Standard.


I want the second to be my default PDF app (the ATO programs automatically force Adobe to open so that's not the issue - it's just that now EVERY PDF opens with Adobe!)


How to I FORCE Nuance Power PDF Standard to be my default PDF app PERMANENTLY?

I would suggest you to follow these steps and then check if the issue persists:

• 
  Press Windows button on your keyboard and type “Default”
  
• 
  Select "Default programs (Desktop app)" and click on "Associate a file type or protocol with a program".
  
• 
  Find .pdf and open it.
  
• 
  Click on "Change program" and select "Adobe reader".
  
• 
  Click on OK and Close. And check if it helps you.

Light PDF Reader

Hello guys i have an old abandoned Asus mini Eee notebook which i want to use again for pdf books.is there any light PDF reader like in linux mint default pdf reader?

 

Changing Default PDF Reader

It seems that MS Edge is my default pdf viewer. Would like to know how set Adobe Acrobat Reader as the default pdf viewer as I did with Windows7.
