  1. Changing Security Policies in Windows 10 Pro?

I asked a question that got no replies. Basically, I'm stuck trying to install needed drivers for a Seagate storage device. Windows lists it in Other devices with a warning that the drivers for the device were blocked due to policy settings! Now, I know I never did any such settings, so it must be Microsoft. How they decided to block the driver installation from one of the largest memory storage device manufacturers in the world I'll never figure. I've tried everything I could find suggestions to try, but nothing has worked. Does anybody know how I can get the Windows 10 Pro OS to stop blockin

    :)

    Local Security Policy

Hi Andy. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

WIndows Pro already includes all the basic Security settings needed to protect a consumer user. Group Policy is only needed to lock down certain settings in an organization so users cannot change them. It's not needed by a consumer at all, unless you have something specific you want to change and the fixes show how to change it via Group Policy.

If you still want to explore setting Security Policy, here is a Microsoft Document which explains it:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/securi...

Feel free to ask back any questions. Please report back results for all steps given so I know what else to suggest if necessary.
