Windows 10: Changing storage location of application downloaded from Microsoft

Is it possible to save the application in the Program Folder rather than as selected by Microsoft store. Or at leas place of my choice on laptop?


Some time application downloaded from MS store is automatically saved some where, I wanted to change that location.


I shall be thankful to you if, your answer is backed with screen shot if possible.

Change default location for downloaded and installed applications

I realize there is a similiar thread that is listed as "Answered", but it contains some workarounds and/or third party applications...I have no interest in either of those.

This is a request for a native configuration option for the storage location of application downloads and installs. I would like to see an official response from MS or the Marketplace team on any plans and timeframes for making this customization available.

Change library location by cmd

The command you are asking for is currently unavailable. What we can suggest is that you propose your request in our

Feedback hub to make Windows better. Now, if you really want to change the save location of a file, kindly follow these steps:

• Type storage in the search bar.
• Select Storage.

From there, you can select where your files will be saved in the future.

Changing the default storage designation for the Microsoft Windows Store and various apps.

The default storage location for the Windows store and apps is in system location where Windows is stored (This PC-> C drive), if you want to change the default location of the apps then I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings
and check if it helps.

• Open Settings and click on the System icon.
• Click on Storage on the left side, on the right side under
  Save locations, select the drive to where you want your
  documents, music, pictures, and/or
  videos to be saved to by default.
• Click/tap on Apply.

The above settings option is available only from the Windows version (10586), I suggest you to check in which version of Windows build in installed on your computer.
