Windows 10: changing the account my windows activation is linked to

ive recently aquired my grandmothers computer and would like to reset it and have my own ms account as the main account however i dont know the activation key and its not in the box nor does anyone know it, but it seems to be linked to her account is there any way i can re link it to my own or obtain the activation key another way to fresh install

Linking Microsoft Account to my Local Account Caused me to Lose Administrator Access

Step 1: Try to login to your temporary user account, enable built in administrator account and try to change the account settings.

• 
  Press Windows + X key together on your desktop screen.
  
• 
  Click on Command Prompt (admin) to open
  Command Prompt.
  
• 
  Type the following command and hit Enter:
  

• 
  net user administrator /active: yes
  (Check for the spaces)
  

4. Now log off from the current user and try to login to the administrator account that is enabled.

Note: Please follow the same steps and type net user administrator /active: no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.



Step 2: Follow the below steps,

• 
  Type User Accounts in the Search box from the desktop and select
  Change the User Accounts.
  
• 
  Here you will be able to see all the user accounts on your computer.
  
• 
  Select the User account and see if it is a Standard user account or Administrator.
  
• 
  If it is standard user then, change it to Administrator.
  
• 
  Now, log out from the Built-in Administrator account and try to log-in with your Administrator account.

How to activate Windows 10 after hardware changes:
When you have linked your Windows 10 digital license to your Microsoft account, then you can use the following direction to activate Windows 10 after hardware changes.

Step 1: Click on Start Menu. Then select Settings.

Step 2: Click Update & security.

Step 3: Then click on Activation. If your Windows 10 copy is not activated and you see a link labeled as
Troubleshoot.

Step 4: After that click on Troubleshoot link to open Windows 10 activation troubleshooter and get your copy of Windows 10 activated after hardware changes.

Step 5: If the troubleshooter fails to activate Windows 10, then you will see a option as
I changed hardware on this device recently.

Step 6: Click on I changed hardware on this device recently link or option to see a page where you need to enter your Microsoft account email address as well as password.

Step 7: Then try to select your Windows 10 computer from the devices list, check the box labeled as
This is the device I am using right now and then click on
Activate button to activate your copy of Windows 10.

I suggest you to enable the built-in Administrator account by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the below command line and press Enter.

net user administrator /active: yes

After the command line is complete, restart the system and login to the built-in Administrator account and do the necessary changes to your account. Again, restart your computer and login t your account and disable the built-in Administrator account by following
the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the below command line and press Enter.

net user administrator /active: no
