Changing the file type assocation for a file

Hi! I've been trying to get rid of Notepad++ as my automatic JSON file launcher thingy but I haven't been able to even after resetting to the defaults. I've tried many solutions I've seen on here but nothing seems to work. I've even deleted Notepad++ but it's not working, and I can't get rid of it. Please help me

    :)

Did typing ASSOC damage my pc?

no, typing ASSOC into a command prompt just displays a list of file extension associations.

no doubt they told you the list shows lots of issues - utter rubbish!

as long as you did not pay the scammers any money and did not allow access to your computer, you have nothing to worry about.

  3. Can't change default program to open files.

    Hi,

I'm trying to change the default program for .dwg files from Autocad to Draftsight.

    I already tried:

    • right click > open with > choose another app > always use this app. The file opens in Draftsight without problems, but it still opens with Autocad the next time you double click a dwg file.
    • settings > apps > default apps > choose default apps by file type. This also does not change the default method to Draftsight.

When I type assoc .dwg in command prompt, it shows ".dwg=DraftSight.Drawing"

I see some suggestions to try using the old interface through control panel, but it seems like control panel routes to the new interface.

I also tried changing the association for .txt files from notepad to notepad++ and it doesn't work either.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Did typing ASSOC damage my pc?

I have been called by fake microsoft-helpers and typed ASSOC. Then a list appeared with ZFSendToTarget..etc. After she wants to use teamviewer I hung up the phone. My question is: did I do any damage to my pc by typing ASSOC ?
