Windows 10: Changing the Windows Account to mine on a second hand desktop

I have recently acquired a second hand desktop that runs on Windows 10. I need to change the Microsoft Account from the previous owners to my own. I got this machine only because the previous owner a close friend unfortunately passed away. Now, i do not have his Microsoft Account password and so am unable to change the account to my own. He uses a *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account and has a PIN based password.


His wife has tried reaching out to Microsoft Support to get his credentials or try and get her to reset the account with a new password through his email but they have not been very helpful with that. For some re


The Machine does not have a logon password so i can still boot it up and use it but i would not like to continue using his Microsoft account. . What are my options?

Want to DELETE second User Account at login

Hello, I'm using a Windows 10 PC and I am the only user. My administrator username is "John Doe".
Recently when I start the PC, I get 2 options for user login-"John Doe", where I click to enter my password and a second option to use a PIN, both have EXACT name "John Doe". The first option asks for a Password- it does not accept any PW I've associated with the account. When selecting the second option, the PIN box appears. I am then able to get to my desktop screen.

I want to do two things: 1) Delete the account that asks for the PW 2) Automatically login and go to my desktop screen. When I go to Control Panel user settings to delete it, there is only ONE account that shows. I've tried at least 6 solutions suggested, none have worked. Probably need step-by-step instructions. Thanks in advance.

 

Change local user account name in Windows 10

I've just reinstalled Win10 and created a second account for my wife. Unfortunately, the login names is the mail she's registered to Microsoft.

How can I change the name.

I've read an answer to same question suggesting following:

• Under view, select large icons.

• Click on Manage another account

I don't have that option in Win10.
