Check Your Nightlight Slider Bar After Installing KB4541335

I have noticed that after installing KB4541335 on my Omen Obelisk Desktop and on my wife's HP Envy Laptop this week the screen looked a tad bit brighter. I went and checked the nightlight adjustment on both computers under Settings...System....Display....Color....Nightlight Settings and found that the adjustment slider bar had been moved all the way over to the right on both computers. Normally if this is done it will turn your screen orange which did as soon as I clicked on the slider to move it. I moved adjustment slider back to where it originally was. Seems ok now and holding the placement.

    :)

    nightlight

I deleted the two registry entries suggested here, but the nightlight setting is still grayed out, nightlight

If I create a new account this setting works fine . I could delete the malfunctioning account but short of copying the registry from one account to another, I don't know how to move the files and few setting and make a few programs available in the new.
If I copy and move the registry then the defect follows.

    Any suggestions please.

    nightlight

Thank you for the answer. I am rather weary of replacing the OS to correct the nightlight problem. I can just start using another account, a less drastic solution. The SSD is not easily swapped so I would have to erase the current drive or install
over, a sometimes problematic step. Thanks.

    Nightlight and Brightness Settings

    Hi,

    First, let us troubleshoot Nighlight.

When you turn it on from Settings>Display and select the slider to ON, go to Nightlight settings and select turn on now, doesn't it work?
