Windows 10: Checking media

I need to know what is causing my laptop to display the message "checking media" when I switch it on. Please help, how do I fix this problem?

Method 2: Reinstall Windows Media player

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the Windows Media Player and check. Refer to these steps:

  Click on Turn Windows features ON or OFF on the left panel.

  Expand Media Features and uncheck the box against Windows Media Player.
