Windows 10: Child Account 2 factor authentication not sending code

Discus and support Child Account 2 factor authentication not sending code in AntiVirus, Firewalls and System Security to solve the problem; My child's Microsoft account is trying to send him a code.     Child Account 2 factor authentication not sending code


    My child's Microsoft account is trying to send him a code. The email option is to my old hotmail account which not longer exists. moved to outllook. My cell number has the correct last 2 digits and when I enter the full 4 digits it tells me they are unable to send code to that number. I am stuck with no way to do the authentication. Suggestions on how to receive the code would be great. Thank You.

    If it's 2 Factor Authentication on your Microsoft account you're looking to disable, you can do this through the Security Basics page. Here's a link:

    Microsoft Account set to use 2 Factor Authentication & Authentication Phone App but it doesn't prompt for authentication when signing in to my Windows 10 PC locally or remotely (via RDP).

    OK I created a 2nd Microsoft account and setup the Authentication App on an old phone I had lying around for 2-factor authentication.

    Step 1

    I logged into this website with that account and it prompted me with the Authentication App so 2 factor is setup correctly on the NEW Microsoft Account.

    Step 2

    I logged in on my Windows 10 PC with that NEW account and it also DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor Authentication.

    I tried to log in via RDP and, again, it DOES NOT PROMPT for 2-Factor.

    My question remains unanswered.

    How do I trigger a reconfiguration of 2 factor authentication?

    If I try to turn off 2 factor authentication it never actually turns off. There also doesn't seem to be a way to regenerate a code for 2 factor authentication. When I turn it "off" and turn it back on it starts to go through the setup but never shows me
    a QR code to use for setting up my authentication app.

    I have a new phone that I want to set up for 2 factor authentication on my account.
