  1. Child Account Set Up Parent Consent Log In Issue

I'm trying to set up my childs account. I signed in and entered his username and password, then it took me to the parent consent is required for this account page. I clicked on "I'm a parent or guardian". I then entered my email address and password to sign in. Once I did that there is a "microsoft account" blank box that appeared in a rainbow like color and nothing happens after that. Nothing loads at all. If I "X" out it takes me right back to the microsoft login and I have to repeat the process all over again, only to land right back on the rainbow blank box. Can someone assist?

    :)

Child Account Set Up Parent Consent Log In Issue

"Manage consent" option is completely missing from parent accounts

I have encountered a problem with managing a family of accounts. I contacted Microsoft Support, the tech support rep escalated the issue to a security team, and the security team has given up. They directed me here for further help.

The issue: My main Microsoft account is enrolled in a family with a second parent account and a child account for my child. Currently, I control all three accounts. I would like to remove the second parent account, but cannot do so until I "manage consent" for the second parent account over the child account. However, there is no "manage consent" option anywhere - it is just completely missing.

    Explanation:

I have a Microsoft account with a Minecraft license. I wanted to play Minecraft with my child, which required creating a child account and purchasing Minecraft again. When signing up the child account, I was given the option of logging in via email or phone number. I chose phone number. Unbeknownst to me, many years ago, I had created another Microsoft account using that phone number. As a result, a family was created that included the child account and the "phone number" account as the parent.

This scenario led to a weird management problem: neither the child nor the "phone number" parent could be removed from the family. Apparently, part of the family permission structure was associated with my primary account, so the "phone number" account did not have permission to leave the family or remove the child.

The tech support rep suggested logging into the "phone number" account and inviting the primary account to join the family. That worked, and the primary account now has parental control over the child account - I can set screen limits, authorize the Minecraft purchase, get weekly reports, etc.

The last step in this process is to remove the "phone number" account from the family, as it is redundant and unneeded. Two such options are available: I can login to the primary account and request to remove the the "phone number" account from the family; or I can login to the "phone number" account and request to leave the family.

However, when I select either option, I receive a message indicating that the "phone number" account cannot leave or be removed from the family until I "manage consent." I presume that this means removing the parental control of the "phone number" account over the child account. There is also a link purportedly to a "manage consent" page - but this page simply reads:

"U.S. law requires a parent to manage consent for children. Click here to manage consent: (hyperlink)"

...and the hyperlink takes me right back to the general "family" page.

Thus, my issue: there is no option to "remove consent" anywhere! I have repeatedly logged into all three accounts and have exhaustively searched every nook and cranny of all three account profiles. The closest I ever get is that page with the one-line legal statement and a circular link right back to the profile page.

This issue has befuddled an entire tech team within Microsoft Support. I'm hopeful that someone here can provide some insight as to where to find the "manage consent" option.
