Windows 10: Child login tries to send a code to iteself

When my son age 9 tries to login to 1 of our windows laptops the login prompt states that it will send a code to the very same user account. Obviously, if he cannot log in to his account he cannot read a code that is emailed to him.MS family is all set up on this laptop and in Microsoft accounts. He can log in fine to our other laptop but this is suffering random BSOD and no longer much use.I have tried removing and adding his user from the laptop.Both laptops show up as devices for him in Family Safety

Child account

I did set up a Child account, I did fallow all the steps window ask, the account say that the child is in the family, when I tried to log, give me the message "The Profile Service service Failed The Sign-in. User Profile cannot be loaded".

Answering your questions:

• Did you make any changes to the child account prior to the issue? No, I did not make any changes.
• Since when you are facing this issue? Right from the start. I never got to login.
• Are you able to login with other child accounts on the computer? No

I suggest you to restart the computer once and check if you are able to login to the computer. I did, the same problem, I do not have any problem with my account or my wife.

Child Account 2 factor authentication not sending code

My child's Microsoft account is trying to send him a code. The email option is to my old hotmail account which not longer exists. (moved to outllook). My cell number has the correct last 2 digits and when I enter the full 4 digits it tells me they are unable
to send code to that number. I am stuck with no way to do the authentication. Suggestions on how to receive the code would be great. Thank You.

I suggest you to check if check if you are able to login online using the Child account. I suggest you to change the password for the child account by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• Click on Family Safety and select the child account.
• On the left navigation pane, select Change Password.
• Follow the on-screen prompts and check if the password is changed.
• Login with the new password and check if it helps.
