Windows 10: Chinese hieroglyphs on the Windows 11 start screen

Hi, yesterday got a new laptop, fully updated it, and the only system language is English with German keyboard layout, but I still see for some reason chinese on my start screen, which is weird as I live in Switzerland. How can I remove/change it? On another Win 11 laptop I don't have it the new one is Asus Scar 18 for German market

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

They, also, have some other options there, too.
Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

• Have you installed any language pack for onscreen keyboard?

I suggest you to follow the below steps how to add the Chinese keyboard and check if it helps.

• Press “Windows+x” and go to control panel.
• Click on “language”.
• Click on “add a language” and select the Chinese language.
• Then click on add at the bottom and check whether you get the
  keyboard or not.

Changed Cortana into US English but Still Replied in Chinese

I suggest you to Remove the Chineselanguage and add it again and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Remove the Chinese language.

  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on the Option adjacent to the
  Chineselanguage.
  
• 
  Click on remove under input method.
  

Step 2: Add ChineseLanguage.

• 
  Press Windows + X on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Select language.
  
• 
  Click on Add language.
  
• 
  Add the Chinese language from the given list.
