Windows 10: CHKDSK - Convert lost chains to files Y/N? - Could someone clarify please?

Hi everyone,I had a USB FAT32 which gave no errors when I ran chkdsk with no fix parameters on it, however, when I ran chkdsk d: /v /f /r it started scanning all the files in verbose mode and towards the end returned the following:"...\System Volume Information\IndexerVolumeGuid100 percent completed.File and folder verification is complete.Convert lost chains to files Y/N? y2246496 KB in 1 recovered files.Windows is verifying free space...Free space verification is complete.Windows has made corrections to the file system.No further action is required. 120,914,112 KB total disk space.

Urgent! All files on my USB drive's suddenly disappeared

Alright, I've misread the small 'f' for a command, my bad. I did as instructed (copy-pasted chkdsk f: in cmd as admin - without /V) and it just finished scanning. Well, it's still a long long list. The entries it consist of read like 'Bad links in lost chain at cluster ..... corrected.' Cluster numbers go from 1871009 to 1887689. https://i.postimg.cc/wM74FY7m/chk.png There are also occasional entries like 'Lost chain cross-linked at cluster 1886829. Orphan truncated.' In the very end it asks me 'Convert lost chains to files? y/n' I scroll from top to bottom and I don't see literally anything else there.

 

Chkdsk shows errors after formatting the usb stick

In order to reproduce the problem, I am doing the following steps:

• I put a text file with a single line of text on the usb file.
• I plug in a USB stick to a PC and in the explorer window I go to the usb stick drive.
• I double-click on the text file and open it in notepad.
• I close the notepad.
• I the explorer I go to the one level up and I click the right button on the USB drive and choose the properties->format.
• I formatted the disk with default proposed parameters (FAT32).

The disk is empty after formatting. At the command line prompt window, I type the chkdsk and the letter of the USB drive and I am receiving information that errors have been found (Convert lost chains to files (y/n)?).

I checked it with various usb sticks and different systems (Windows 7, 8, 10) and I got the same results.
