chkdsk did not save result when it runs in Recovery/Repair Mode

Hi,My HDD has some bad sectors. I tried to fix them with “chkdsk Y: /f /r” for one partition inside windows 7 and it worked, and I can see the report on Event Viewer and also hidden found.000 file in that drive. But for another partition, Blue-screen occurred. Hence, I decided to run "chkdsk" in recovery/Repair mode instead as follows:1. Keep tapping F8 at boot time. 2. Boot into Repair Mode. 3. Open a Command Prompt. 4. Run “chkdsk X: /f /r” command. But at the end, CMD reported that it failed to record the result, and further in windows there is neither any report on Event Viewer nor hidden

    :)

    chkdsk c: /F

It might be an error on the drive. We suggests that you follow the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Run Disk Cleanup utility to clear your junk files.
    • Open an elevated CMD type sfc /scannow and hit Enter to run the System File Checker.
    • Once the scan is completed, restart your computer. Remember to exit ChkDsk
      during boot.
    • Next, again open CMD as admin type
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
and hit Enter to repair the Windows image.
    • Now see if ChkDsk able to complete the scan.

Note: Before doing the steps, make sure you save a back up of your files.

Let us know how it goes.

  3. Windows recovery is not working says "Not supported"

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    • How are you trying to run Check Disk?

    • When exactly do you receive Windows recovery "Not supported"?

    • Have you tried to setup Windows recovery drive?
I suggest you to run Check Disk which performs an analysis of the disk. Refer to the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X.
    • Click on Command prompt (Admin).
    • Type chkdsk /f and hit enter.
NOTE: The root drive has to be C: and the command may schedule a task at the system startup, if it does, then press
Y to schedule a task and restart the computer to perform chkdsk.

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

Please get back to us with the results of the above instructions.
