    CHKDSK, DISIM and sfc/scanow not working


    I am having problems with my programs installations. So I decided to run CHKDSK but every time it is stuck at 10%. Then I ran sfc/scannow . It displayed that Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them . Then I tried running DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth but then it gave me error 483. What should I do , every fix involves using these 3 commands but I cant even run a single one of these. I also trieddoing a clean installation of windows . Ran those commands in safe mode. Downgraded my windows version from 1903 to 1809.

    And also defragmented my drives . Completely formatted my disk.But still this problem persists.

    SFC scannow not working but verify only is working

    there is no problem in chkdsk I've checked When I select command prompt and sfc scannow from f8 and repair.. it shows that a reboot is required for pending repair and pending renames folder in winsxs is full of files.. what should I do??

    Hello,

    I'm having some issues with my Windows 10 installation so I decided to run the sfc command. It did not work. So according to some on line advice (www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/sfc-scannow-not working.html) , I ran the chkdsk command. That command
    discovered errors and proceeded to fix them. When I next tried sfc, it again refused to work. I then ran chkdsk again, and to my surprise, it went through the exact sequence of fixes as before (needless to say, sfc again did not work). Can someone offer some
    advice, please?

    chkdsk c: /F

    It might be an error on the drive. We suggests that you follow the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Run Disk Cleanup utility to clear your junk files.
    • Open an elevated CMD type sfc /scannow and hit Enter to run the System File Checker.
    • Once the scan is completed, restart your computer. Remember to exit ChkDsk
      during boot.
    • Next, again open CMD as admin type
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth       and hit Enter to repair the Windows image.
    • Now see if ChkDsk able to complete the scan.

    Note: Before doing the steps, make sure you save a back up of your files.

    Let us know how it goes.
