Windows 10: chkdsk returning 2 unspecified errors

Hi my friend's hard drive is having some major issues and I have been trying to fix the drive. The drive is assessible after 30-40 minutes of read time and does contain files in it. Autoplay also returns that there is an issue with the drive and prompts me to fix the drive through the scan and repair feature, but that has not worked so far. I researched online and have tried using the chkdsk function on command prompt. Everything goes well until stage 3 where the errors occur as sfollows:Stage 3: Examining security descriptors ... An unspecified error occurred 736463686b2e6378 a17. An unspec

chkdsk /f Unspecified error

Hello! i'm currently trying to do a chkdsk /f because my ssd became raw and unaccessible, i know theres a format option but i have been wait for 2 hours and almost nothing has happened, how can i fix this error i get on chkdsk?

the errors i keep getting are:

"An unspecified error occurred (696e647863686b2e 9cd)"

"An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 17b4)"

Doing chkdsk /x also doesnt work, any help?

 

Chkdsk read error / unspecified error occurred

I have an old hard drive (1TB) that was taken out from my laptop and currently been used as a external drive. However it seems reaching the end of its life.

HDTune showing a bad sector at around 2961 MB-3076MB location, so I used chkdsk (command prompt, > chkdsk F: /f /r /x) and fixed it. Then I formatted the hard drive using the normal formatting and test using HD tune shows all green. But after a while the
HDTune shows the bad sector came back. (no new sectors popping up)

So I repeated those steps at least 2 times, but the bad sector came back yet again at time of writing.

Further more, sometimes chkdsk will fail to finish at very end (see attached picture), returning



following message:

A disk read error offcuredc0000483

An unspecified error occurred (6c6f6766696c652e 29f)

Some times chkdsk will ran normally but other times it returns error just like the one above, and the same bad sector seems always there. So maybe it is time for me to say bye bye to this hard drive? Or is there a way to salvage that hard drive like repartitioning
to skip the bad sectors?

Since I could not boot anymore I mounted an SSD into an external case and run chkdsk /f, and it comes up with:

21395 large file records processed.

0 bad file records processed.

Stage 2: Examining file name linkage ...

An unspecified error occurred (696e647863686b2e 532).

An unspecified error occurred (6e74667363686b2e 1713).

I'd like to know if this is a hardware problem, or what to do, since the drive is still under warranty grace period.

I can browse the file system normally, and I came to this point after running chkdsk and, following directions in the events log, chkdsk /spotfix (however it went on asking for chkdsk /f).
