Windows 10: Choose a fit for your desktop image - Photos are distorted, cropped, cut off, zoomed in.

Background settings Choices:Fill = Zooms in.Fit = Large black borders.Stretch = Makes things look short and stocky - distorted horizontal stretch.Tile = Large black borders.Center = Zooms in too far cutting off 25% perimeter.Span = Zooms in too far and cuts off the foreground.All these pre-set option choices skew my pictures. I just want the picture I took to fill the screen.

Windows 10 Background Slideshow Photos Zoomed

Hi Jack,

if your pictures have a higher resolution than your monitor and you choose to centre the image it will appear zoomed.

go to settings -> personalisation -> background

under choose a fit

select fill to to fill the screen (one dimension may be cropped if the aspect ratio is not the same as the monitor)

select fit to fit the whole picture on the screen (a border of background colour may be added if the aspect ratio is not the same as the monitor)

select stretch to make the picture the same aspect ratio as the monitor (may cause some distortion)

select tile to repeat the picture to fill the space (if the picture is bigger than the monitor it will appear zoomed and cropped)

select centre to show the picture actual size on the centre of the screen (large pictures will appear zoomed and cropped)

select span to stretch the picture over multiple monitors (may appear zoomed)

Crop tool Photos App not working

Not sure what you are suggesting. On the Photo Viewer App, there is nothing that lets me select, Aspect Ratio or Custom. It just gives an 'edit' option and when you choose 'Crop or Rotate' the Crop doesn't work. It just will not let you 'draw the lines'
as needed. Jumps to it's own conclusions, which cuts off part of the photo itself.

Weird...??!!

Photo app auto cropping image

I dont think it is your computer's drivers, I have the same issue when viewing images from my Moultrie camera. When viewing an image, it shows the full image and immediately crops and zooms the image

Edit with photos, edit with paint 3d, and edit with paint all show the full image.
