"Choose Folders" in OneDrive Settings is not working - locked up in loading - what did I do...

Yes, I probably caused it, but what did I do.

I am in the process of moving a bunch of files (pictures & such) from my D: drive to my One Drive cloud, for archiving. The massive pictures folder(s) are not located in the OneDrive folder on my C: drive.

    1) I copied one of the folders ("Old Docs") from my D: drive (9 GB, about 11K files, yes, I know, a big bite to start out with) to the OneDrive folder on my C: drive - and all went well - and it uploaded over-night.

    2) I had already created a folder in the OneDrive cloud ("D-drive archive") and marked it not-Sync'ed.

    3) Next, in the OneDrive cloud, I moved the newly uploaded and sync'ed "Old Docs" folder into the not-sync'ed "D-drive archive" folder.

    4) I went back to my PC and noted that the "Old Docs" folder was still present in the OneDrive folder on my PC.

This was one of my questions I had - i.e. what happens to the "Old Docs" folder on my PC (like do I have to delete it).

    5) So I decided to check the Settings for my OneDrive cloud to see how the "Old Docs" folder was set up, i.e. was the Sync'ed box still checked.

But when I clicked on Choose Folders, that is when the Choose Folders locked up in a never ending little rotating circle, saying loading.

I had a heck of a time in moving the "Old Docs" folder back to the OneDrive "Files" folder, but that didn't help. Nothing worked to get to the Choose Folders pop-up.

I finally got everything working again, by Quiting and then Restarting OneDrive.

So where did I go wrong. I just want to archive my massive Pictures folder(s) on my D: drive onto my OneDrive cloud and don't need them Sync'ed. So I am trial and error here - and I guess I chose the wrong steps, process. Any suggestions on he best way to do this.

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Anyone know how to remove "OneDrive - For Business" from the Explorer navigation panel? I've tried just about every registry modification, and windows policy for "Onedrive" but they only seem to work for the consumer product, not for onedrive for business.

The onedrive product alone is so damn annoying and continues to load itself upon startup, even when it's explicitly remove from startup. It continues to automatically load and unload itself from within the startup folder... while I'm actively watching it load itself into the startup folder.

    • Right click on OneDrive icon of
      System Tray
      .

  4. "Choose Folders" in OneDrive Settings is not working - locked up in loading - what did I do...

OneDrive asks me to choose folders after every time I boot

I am asked to choose folders to sync every time I boot too. Also, in the OneDrive settings I cannot change autosave options to OneDrive.

I have taken the following steps to resolve this, all to no effect:

    - resetting OneDrive as per your instructions

    - updating OneDrive (%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\update)

    - unlinking this PC from OneDrive and starting again

None of this works. I am still asked to choose folders on every boot. Please help!
