Windows 10: Choose to authorize outgoing connections by notifications with the windows defender firewall

Hello, during my previous windows installation I did not need to add a third-party firewall, because I had selected to block outgoing connections as it is the default for incoming connections and I had notifications when a new application needed access inbound or outbound it was perfect.But since my last reinstall, if I select to block outgoing connections I don't have a notification to unblock them when an application needs them and it seems dangerous to me to allow them globally. I searched the internet and everybody say that it is not possible with the windows firewall however it worked a

Can Windows Firewall block outgoing connections yet? If not, it's one step above useless.

Windows Defender Firewall any good ?

I just moved over to Windows 10 & was going to use Win10 Defender because I read that it is way better than it was in Win7. However I just read that the Win10 Defender firewall does not block any outgoing traffic by default.

With Windows 7 I've been using Norton Security which has a "Smart Firewall" and says it does block outgoing traffic But how does it know what to block? And can I apply these rules to the Win10 firewall?

I looked at the Norton firewall traffic settings & saw only 2 outgoing Red arrows In fact they were double headed or bidirectional arrows. I'm presuming that indicates Norton is blocking only 2 outgoing things, at least that's my interpretation.

If Norton has only 2 outgoing traffic rules, is it really much better than Win10 Defender firewall that has none?

Should I setup Defender firewall to mimic Norton? Or is it worth using some other firewall?

How do I stop firewall and antivirus notification?!?!

Hi,

To disable the firewall notification, follow these steps:

• 
  On the search tab, type
  Security and Maintenance.
  
• 
  Choose
  Change Security and Maintenance settings.
  
• 
  Uncheck
  the notifications that you don't want to pop-up.
