What happens if you do the following?

Press Windows key + X

Click Power Options

Under Related settings, click Additional power settings

Under Control Panel Home, click 'Choose what closing the lid does'

Click Choose settings that are currently unavailable

Click in the list box for when you are 'Plugged in' then choose 'Do nothing'

Click Save changes.

 

NuVision TM800W560L Missing "Choose What To Do When Lid Is Closed"

I purchased a NuVision TM800W560L tablet from the Microsoft Store. It features a magnetic closure to turn off the tablet when a lid is closed.

I would like to change the Windows 10 setting "Choose what to do when lid is closed" for when it is plugged in. Unfortunately, when I navigate to that setting page, this option is missing. Only the option for power button appears.

Any idea how to make this setting available?

I don't want to change the power button behavior. However, I would like to be able to close the cover, to protect the screen, without turning off the unit, when it is connected to power.

Please follow the methods mentioned below:

Method 1: Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X.
  
• 
  Select on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Power Options. On the left, click on "Choose what closing the lid does". Click on the drop down menu for "When I close the lid" and choose "Sleep" or "Hibernate.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to run in-built Power troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting on the left pane, click on
  View All.
• Click on Power to run the troubleshooter.

Method 3: If the above method doesn’t help, I would suggest you to
reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back with their default settings. Follow the steps.

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin).
• At the command prompt, type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes, and then press
  ENTER.
• At the command prompt, type exit to exit the Command Prompt window.
• Restart the computer and check with the issue.
